At HAAD YAO DIVERS, safety is priority and prior to participating in any dive activities here, each participant must complete a medical form to ensure their health is suitable for diving.

 How old must I be?

Anyone from age 8 upwards in good health can enroll in a PADI Diving course.

 Do I need a Medical Clearance?

We will require you to fill in a medical statement before we take you diving. The medical form is a list of conditions that might disqualify you from diving. If you suffer from certain respiratory disorders, such as allergies or asthma, then you should get checked by a diving physician at home.

 Do I have to be a good swimmer?

No, but you should feel comfortable in the water. A 10 minute float and a 200 meter swim or a 300 meter snorkel swim is required prior to certification.

 What if I can’t complete the course?

You will be granted credit for the portion of the course you have completed, and can finish the course at a later time at any other PADI Dive-Center. You’ll pay only for the part of the course you have completed.

 Are their any hidden costs while doing a diving course?

No. All equipment, boat trips, instruction, certification fees etc. are included in the price. However, we will need three pass photos for your diving licenses.

 Is there accommodation included the course?

No, we offer just full diving-service. However, we offer some course plus Accommodation Packages. Please ask us for further details or see our accommodation section.

 Is the food included the diving?

There is breakfast, lunch, fruits and drinks included on the daytrips. On the Longtailboat trips lunch on a beach is included.

 Where is the nearest recompression chamber?

There is an SSS Recompression Chamber Network facility on Koh Samui. Our Dive-Center is a member to guarantee unrestricted access if needed.

 When is the best time for diving on Koh Phangan?

Koh Phangan is affected from two monsoons. The southwest-monsoon (April to September) and the northeast-monsoon (October to December). However diving is possible all year round but the sea can be rough during the month of November or December and the visibility can be limited. The best diving conditions usually are from February to May and from September to mid November.

 I’m an Instructor, can I teach my friends through your facility?

Yes, but (unless you hold a Thai work permit) we have to send a Dive master /Instructor along, as TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand) regulations require that any diving activity has to be supervised by our staff, otherwise (in case of an incident) any insurance cover is invalid.

 Do I need insurance coverage?

No. All our diving and snorkeling activities are insured but we recommend for every Diver to purchase a personal diving insurance. It's inexpensive and covers all your individual needs (for more information contact: www.diversalertnetwork.com)
